Yes you CAN Cancan!
the Quainted ladies are a San Francisco Bay Area based can-can dance troupe, bringing sass, class and top quality performances around the Bay and beyond!
Formerly known as The Velvettes, the troupe has been performing together since 2015 under the auspices of the troupe’s artistic director, Calliope Quaint. The troupe delights in performing dance renditions using traditional cancan moves and also incorporates modern dance movements and burlesque into their extensive repertory. They have appeared in the the burlesque/cabaret theater productions of Just Another Zombie Holiday Show and Dollhouse Monsters. They have also performed twice at the Great Burlesque Exposition, Boston, MA, and regularly perform at DIVA or Die and at the annual Clockwork Alchemy Convention. Current troupe members include: Calliope Quaint, Jenny Jewels, Gigi D’Allure, and Tanqueray von Grafenburg.
